Service 02 · Targeted repair
Fix the leak. Keep the roof.
A cracked pipe boot or a handful of wind-torn shingles doesn't mean your whole roof is finished. We find the real source, fix it properly, and tell you honestly how much life the rest of the roof has.
01 · What we repair
Most leaks start small
In our experience, most Valley leaks come from a short list of failure points — the parts of the roof that take the most sun, wind and water.
01
Leak detection
We trace water from the stain on your ceiling back to where it actually enters — which is rarely directly above it.
02
Pipe boot & penetration resealing
The #1 cause of minor leaks in McAllen. Neoprene boots dry out in the UV long before shingles fail.
03
Wind-damaged shingle replacement
Matching architectural shingles installed and woven in to restore the continuous water barrier.
04
Valley & flashing repair
Re-flashing chimneys, sidewalls, and valleys where water volume is highest.
05
Ridge cap restoration
Ridge caps take the most heat and wind. Replaced or resealed without touching the slopes.
06
Vents, skylights & drip edge
Resealing and replacing the small metal and plastic parts that let water in long before the field shingles do.
02 · The Hanna lesson
Brittle shingles leave first
Hurricane Hanna made landfall on 25 July 2020 with 90 mph sustained winds and pushed straight through the Valley. Gusts reached 60 mph at McAllen and 80 mph near Lyford. McAllen recorded 12.66 inches of rain; Mission, 14.40.
The National Weather Service summary records that "hundreds of poorly built homes and other structures were damaged, mainly roofs." The shingles that tore off first were the dry, brittle ones — the ones that had lost the flexibility to bend in the wind.
A repair fixes today's damage. Asking whether the rest of the roof is ready for the next storm is part of the same visit.
